National Medical Commission rules and regulations to be implemented by every medical institute : Punjab Medical Council

President Punjab Medical Council Dr. Charanjit Singh Pruthi held a preliminary meeting with heads of all medical institutions including Punjab and Chandigarh senior health officers, where it was decided that all notifications, rules and regulation of the National Medical Commission would be implemented by every medical college and institute in true letter and spirit.
The meeting was attended by all principals of medical colleges in the State, registrar’s of medical universities, representatives of Govt. Medical College, Chandigarh, Director Health Services, Punjab, Director Health Services, Chandigarh UT and concerned hospitals to deliberate on compulsory medical internship of foreign medical graduates returning from Russia, Ukraine and China.
He directed all the institutions to submit their respective proposals within a week to the Punjab Medical Council (PMC), so that the matter could be decided on merits at the earliest.
Meanwhile the Director, Research and Medical Education, Punjab Dr Avinash Kumar has informed that a proposal regarding stipend to be paid to the Foreign Medical Graduates has been sent to the Government.
The PMC has also appreciated the efforts and work done by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led punjab government and especially Health Minister Punjab Chetan Singh Jouramajra for taking revolutionary steps in the department.
