CHANDIGARH, JUNE 15: Noted social activist and entrepreneur Nagina Bains assumed charge as the new head of The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Indian Women Network, Tricity Chapter for 2022-23 at an impressive ceremony here at CII. Her elevation to the top post of the coveted forum was officially confirmed by the CII, the pivotal non-government industry-led and industry-managed organization engaged in presenting policy inputs to both state and national government.

 

 

 

Nagina, a psychology honours graduate who also holds a Masters in Sociology besides a postgraduate diploma in Mass Communication and a program in General Management with Cornell University USA, brings wide spectrum of educational expertise coupled with her outstanding work experience in field of real estate, communications, hospitality, teaching and international tourism to propagate social change through leadership.

 

 

 

“The new avenue is both a challenge and a bouquet of opportunities for me to leverage my abilities for reinvigorating our forum’s potential to positively impact as many lives as possible, the 40-year-old city based entrepreneur said after taking over the mantle adding that her focus would be not only ensure going beyond the realm of women empowerment but also gender neutral empowerment besides encouraging diversity in thought , ideas and implementation on various social issues .

 

 

 

Noting that a robust insight about the national and global political and cultural ecosystem is critical to realize full potential of organisational goals, Nagina expressed confidence that her knowledge of the domain would stand her in good stead. Outlining her vision for the coming year Nagina stated that she intends to dedicate this year at IWN to be a catalyst in that change and whatever we as a team can do and I believe we can.

 

 

 

“The CII mandate of policy and advocacy, learning and wellbeing, health and membership development will all be the focus arenas with the thematic semblance of this idea, especially health with a special focus on mental health, which I think is most imperative especially for the youth who represent the ethos of tomorrow,” the new chairwoman added
