Punjab and Chandigarh Journalists Union strongly condemned brutal attack on Zirakhpur based Journalist Alok Verma
Chandigarh – The Punjab and Chandigarh Journalists Union strongly condemned the brutal attack on the Zirakhpur based Journalist Alok Verma who is presently working with Amar Ujala Newspaper.
He was attacked by a person last night in Zirakpur when he was returning back home after office. The accused attacked Alok Verma with a baseball bat and an iron rod on his head and fled away taking his wallet and mobile phone.
The state president of Punjab and Chandigarh Journalists Union Balwinder Singh Jammu, Secretary General Pritam Singh Ruppal, Secretary Jai Singh Chhibber in a joint statement have said although the case has been registered by the police in this regard but the incident is highly serious in natute. They have urged the Punjab DGP to take a stern action against the culprits at the earliest.
