Announces Rs 2.5-CR for facelift of Barnala bus stand
Interacts with passengers to familiarize with problems faced by them during bus travel
Chandigarh, October 23:
In a bid to ensure the best possible transport services to the passengers in the state, Punjab Transport Minister Mr. Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, on Saturday, made a surprise visit to the Bus Stand and PRTC workshop in Barnala.
While taking a stock of the sanitation arrangements and other facilities at the bus stand, the Cabinet Minister interacted with the passengers to get familiarized with the problems faced by them. He also lent ears to the grievances of the employees. He directed the officials to further improve the cleanliness and sanitation arrangements at the bust stand.
Interacting with the media, the Transport Minister said that a total Rs.2.5 crore will be spent on facelift of the Barnala Bus stand. Rs.1.5 crore would be spent by the Transport Department and Rs.1 crore by the Improvement Trust over the renovation works. The Improvement Trust Chairman Mr. Makhan Sharma apprised the Minister that tenders worth Rs.1 crore have already been floated for the renovation and the work will be initiated soon.
Raja Warring reached out to elderly women sitting at the bus stand to be familiar with the problems faced by them during the bus travel.
During the visit, the Transport Minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kumar Saurabh Raj, SSP Mrs. Alka Meena, SDM Mr. Varjit Walia, RTA Mr. Karanbir Singh Chhina, GM PRTC Mr. M.P. Singh.

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਟਰਾਂਸਪੋਰਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ. ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਜਾ ਵੜਿੰਗ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਬਰਨਾਲਾ ਬੱਸ ਸਟੈਂਡ ਅਤੇ ਪੀ.ਆਰ.ਟੀ.ਸੀ. ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੀ ਅਚਨਚੇਤ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਿਥੇ ਦਰਪੇਸ਼ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਵਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਥੇ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਵੀ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਵੜਿੰਗ ਨੇ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਨਾਲਾ ਬੱਸ ਅੱਡੇ ਦੀ ਸਾਫ਼-ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਦੇ ਪੁਖ਼ਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਬਿਹਤਰੀ ਲਈ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਟਰਾਂਸਪੋਰਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕੁੱਲ 2.5 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਨਾਲ ਬਰਨਾਲਾ ਦੇ ਬੱਸ ਅੱਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਟਰਾਂਸਪੋਰਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ 1.5 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਨਗਰ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਟਰੱਸਟ ਵੱਲੋਂ 1 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਕਿ ਬੱਸ ਅੱਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਿਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਿਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਨਗਰ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਟਰੱਸਟ ਦੇ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮੱਖਣ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਬੱਸ ਅੱਡੇ ਦੇ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਲਈ 1 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਟੈਂਡਰ ਲਗਾਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਲਦ ਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ. ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਜਾ ਵੜਿੰਗ ਨੇ ਬੱਸ ਅੱਡੇ ‘ਤੇ ਬੈਠੀਆਂ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਗਈ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਸੌਰਭ ਰਾਜ, ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਅਲਕਾ ਮੀਨਾ, ਐਸ.ਡੀ.ਐਮ. ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਵਰਜੀਤ ਵਾਲੀਆ, ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਇੰਮਪਰੂਵਮੈਂਟ ਟਰਸਟ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮੱਖਣ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਆਰ.ਟੀ.ਏ. ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਕਰਨਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਛੀਨਾ, ਜੀ.ਐਮ. ਪੀ.ਆਰ.ਟੀ.ਸੀ. ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਐਮ.ਪੀ. ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
