Vigilance nabs ASI for taking bribe Rs.15,000
ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਨੇ 15,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਵਤ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਏ.ਐਸ.ਆਈ. ਰੰਗੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਦਬੋਚਿਆ
ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ, 21 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ: ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਬਿਊਰੋ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਚੌਂਕੀ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ, ਥਾਣਾ ਸਦਰ ਨਕੋਦਰ ਜਿਲਾ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਏ.ਐਸ.ਆਈ. ਸੰਤਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ 15,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਵਤ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਬਿਓਰੋ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਕਤ ਏ.ਐਸ.ਆਈ. ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤਕਰਤਾ ਕੁਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ‘ਤੇ ਫ਼ੜਿਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਨਕੋਦਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਗੈਸ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤਕਰਤਾ ਨੇ ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਬਿਊਰੋ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਬਦਲੇ ਉਕਤ ਏ.ਐਸ.ਆਈ. ਵਲੋਂ 20,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਰਿਸ਼ਵਤ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤਰਕਤਾ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਏ.ਐਸ.ਆਈ. ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ 5,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਕਿਸ਼ਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਦੇ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ।
ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਦੀ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਉਕਤ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਏ.ਐਸ.ਆਈ. ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਗਵਾਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਜਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਦੂਜੀ ਕਿਸ਼ਤ ਦੇ 15,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਵਤ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਹੀ ਦਬੋਚ ਲਿਆ।
ਉਨਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਰੋਕੂ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਧਾਰਾਵਾਂ ਤਹਿਤ ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਬਿਓਰੋ ਦੇ ਥਾਣਾ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਕੱਦਮਾ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਗਲੇਰੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਆਰੰਭ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
Chandigarh, October 21: Punjab Vigilance Bureau today nabbed an ASI Santa Singh posted at Sadar Police Station, Nakodar, Jalandhar district red handed accepting bribe of Rs 15,000.
Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said accused Assistant Sub-Inspector was arrested on the complaint of Kuljit Singh employee of a gas agency at Nakodar. The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above mentioned accused police official was demanding bribe of Rs. 20,000 in lieu of not to involve him in a police case. He further said that he had already paid Rs. 5,000 as a first installment to the accused ASI.
After verifying his information, a vigilance team from Jalandhar laid a trap and the accused ASI was arrested on the spot while taking bribe of Rs. 15,000 as 2nd installment from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.
He informed that a case under prevention of corruption act has been registered against him at VB police station, Jalandhar and further investigation is under progress.
