Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan directed the Education Department to make the arrangements for students to observe and visit Punjab Vidhan Sabha during the session and non session days.
Chandigarh 16 February 2025: Aiming to provide pragmatic knowledge pertaining to the functioning of Legislative Assembly to the students of the state, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan directed the Education Department to make the arrangements for students to observe and visit Punjab Vidhan Sabha during the session and non session days.
Sandhwan said that our efforts became fruitful when 155 students visited to observe the actual proceedings of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha during the session and 900 student visited during non session days in 2022. This trend further gained momentum as 990 student visited Punjab Vidhan Sabha during the session days and 1157 students visited during non session days in 2023.
He feels extremely delighted to inform that 998 student came to observe the working of the Session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha in 2024. Similarly, 2320 student visited Punjab Vidhan Sabha during the non session days in 2024. Speaker Sandhwan met the students personally and felt extreme happiness to interact with them in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretariat.
Sandhwan highlighted that student have also developed an interest in the field of politics while observing the constitutional proceedings of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha which is very important for strengthening the democracy of the country. Speaker told the students that their visit will prove to be immensely beneficial for their future life. Student felt amazed to see the design and architecture of Punjab Vidhan Sabha building.
