The more Modi continues to ignore, the stronger the farmers’ movement will be: Bhagwant Mann
– Moves adjournment motion for tenth time seeking repeal of black farm laws
New Delhi/Chandigarh, August 9
Slamming the Narendra Modi-led centre government on the issue of the three black farm laws, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab president and Member of Parliament, Bhagwant Mann said as much as the Modi government persists on its stubbornness and dictatorial attitude; the ‘annadatas’ of the country will not return without winning the farmers’ movement.
Bhagwant Mann on Monday moved an adjournment motion for the tenth consecutive time, to set aside the listed business of the Lok Sabha for the purpose of discussing a definite matter of urgent importance, that is the black farm laws. He said today the world is praising the peaceful farmers’ movement going on for the last eight months, within the ambit of the constitution.
“The more Modi continues to ignore the farmers’ struggle, the stronger the farmers’ movement will be,” said Mann. He said the Modi government should abandon its stubborn stance as it was putting the country’s ‘annadatas’ at stake.
The AAP MP said that hundreds of country’s ‘annadatas’ were martyred during the ongoing farmers’ movement and it was important to take up the matter on priority with repeal of the black farm laws; so that the farmers and their families could move back happily to their houses. Bhagwant Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Party has stood with the farmers from the beginning and will always stand by them and fight for their rights.
