Chandigarh, February 4- Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini here today approved the Haryana Wild Life (Protection) Rules, 2024.The new rules establish criteria for obtaining various types of permits related to the Wildlife Department.
The Haryana Government repealed the Haryana Wildlife (Protection) Rules, 1974 under the provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. The government also approved the Haryana Wildlife (Protection) Rules, 2024.Under the Haryana Wildlife (Protection) Rules, 2024, guidelines and procedures are now available for the public. These outline the process of obtaining permits and approvals from the Department of Wildlife.
The rules provide detailed procedures and prescribed formats for granting permits related to wildlife education, scientific research, or scientific management. They also outline the procedures and formats for granting permits for the conservation of specified plants for special purposes.
These rules set a detailed procedure. It prescribes a format for individuals to conduct surveys or investigations on land within the boundaries of sanctuaries. The rules also provide for the registration process of individuals possessing arms and specify the procedure and prescribed format.
Additionally, the rules define the complete process including detailed procedures and prescribed formats for the trade or commerce of wildlife animals, articles, and trophies. The rules also define powers. They outline procedures for taking cognizance of offenses under the law. Prescribed formats are included for the same.
The enactment of the Haryana Wildlife (Protection) Rules, 2024 will make the process of obtaining permits from the Department of Wildlife more transparent and simplified for the public.
