Chandigarh, July 19, 2021: Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) President and Rajya Sabha Member, S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa on Monday moved adjournment motion for an urgent matter to concern about the farmer’s bill.
Divulging more details in this regard, here today, S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa said that on the request made by the farmers who have been putting up a tough fight against the black laws for a long time, he has moved an adjournment motion notice in Parliament for Tuesday.
In an adjournment motion moved by Rajya Sabha Member, S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa in the interest of all farmers and entire nation, demanded that the rest of the work in Parliament should be stopped and the issue of farmers should be resolved on a priority basis and he also urged the Parliament and the Centre to immediately withdraw the anti-farmer bills which have been brought by the present government. He said that instead of repealing these black laws, the Union government has adopted a stubborn attitude towards the farmers.
S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa said that due to these issues the situation of Punjab and the other adjoining areas are alarming because of the protests of agriculture labour, arhtiyas and all those who are affected by this anti-farmer bill.
Supporting farmers, S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa appealed to the MPs that rather than boycotting or walking out each one of them should raise the voice for the farmers by staying inside Parliament.
S. Dhindsa said that he had been with the farmers from the very beginning and backing the farmers’ agitation against these black laws and he had also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking to repeal these anti-farmer laws.
S. Dhindsa said that following the pleas of the farmers’ organizations, it was now the duty of the members of both the houses to raise their voices in the interest of the farmers pressuring the central government to repeal these black laws.
He reiterated that the Union Government should give up its stubborn attitude and accept the legitimate demands of the farmers and repeal these black laws so that the farmers who have been struggling all over Punjab including the Delhi border for a long time could return home happily.
