Chandigarh, January 31:  Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, made an announcement. He said that an action plan will be prepared. This plan aims to bring Haryana’s rich civilization, culture, and tourism on the global stage. He also emphasized the need to enhance the grandeur of the 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela and to involve major partner countries in the event in the future.

Haryana’s Heritage and Tourism Minister, Dr. Arvind Sharma, met Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Sh Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in New Delhi today. During the meeting, Dr. Sharma formally invited Sh Shekhawat to inaugurate the 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela, which will take place in Faridabad from February 7. 4oThe two Ministers also discussed various topics related to tourism and cultural initiatives.

This is similar to the recognition of the Surajkund International Crafts Mela. He emphasized that the Central and Haryana Governments will collaborate. They will develop a special action plan. This plan ensures that the world experiences and appreciates the richness of Haryana’s culture and tourism.

Expanding Surajkund Mela Globally with Partner Nations & Thematic Fairs

He highlighted that they will add prominent countries as partner nations in future editions. This will enhance the grandeur of the Surajkund International Crafts Mela. It will foster greater cultural, handicraft, and handloom exchanges. He also suggested fixing the program calendar for the Mela. This would ensure that global participants, artists, and tourists can plan their visits during the scheduled period. He proposed organizing theme-based fairs in Surajkund. This aims to promote the Surajkund International Crafts Mela on a global platform. These fairs will be similar to those held in cities like Mumbai and Kolkata.

Haryana Tourism Minister Highlights Digital Innovations and Cultural Unity

Haryana Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma stated that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini lead with significant efforts. They are promoting unity in the diversity of food, culture, and art across the country and the State. He also apprised the Union Minister about the steps taken to enhance the grandeur of the Surajkund International Crafts Mela. Dr. Sharma mentioned that this year, digital platforms will be extensively utilized at the Mela. These range from online ticket booking to QR codes for artists and stalls. This ensures complete transparency in monitoring. He mentioned that, in addition to artists, weavers, and craftsmen from the theme states of Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, participants from BIMSTEC countries and 50 other nations will also join the event. Furthermore, the Mela will not only showcase a wide array of traditional and delectable dishes from 15 states but also offer visitors an excellent opportunity to indulge in the diverse and rich culinary offerings. Additionally, the event will celebrate the vibrant cultural heritage from across the region, creating a unique experience for all attendees.
