….Badal and Majithia families using SGPC functions to explore political ground: Kultar Singh Sandhwan

Chandigarh, May 24
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and state Kissan Wing president Kultar Singh Sandhwan and senior leader Manwinder Singh Giaspura said that Sukhbir Singh Badal was pretending to be credited with the opening of the Covid care centres opened by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and was trying to take political advantage of Guru and people’s money. In a joint statement issued from the party headquarters here on Monday, Kultar Singh Sandhwan and Manwinder Singh Giaspura said that the president of Shiromani Akali Dal Badal and other leaders accused of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and killing innocent Sikhs were rejected by the people of Punjab.
“But, now the Akali Dal Badal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal has started using the Covid care centres being set up by the SGPC for the treatment of Corona victims for his own political gain,” said the leaders. They said that this was not the first instance of the Akali Dal leaders taking political advantage by using the resources of the Shiromani Committee controlled by them. The leaders said that even before this, the Akali Dal Badal and Majithia family had been using the functions of the Shiromani Committee to stay politically alive. Taking a dig, Kultar Singh Sandhwan alleged that even a few days back, Bikram Majithia had tried to use the SGPC function of giving Rs 1 lakh to the martyred farmers from the donations of the sangat, for his political interest.
Sandhwan said that it was highly reprehensible for Badal and Majithia families to use the services of SGPC for their own political interests. Manwinder Singh Giaspura said that the SGPC is an institution of Sikh Panth and all Sikh Sangat pay a part of their income to the Shiromani Committee. He said that the efforts of the SGPC should not be used for the political interests of Badal and Majithia families. The AAP leaders said that if the president of Akali Dal Sukhbir Singh Badal and the Majithia family had the courage to serve the people of Punjab, then they should set up Covid care centre with their own resources. They said that the Akali Dal Badal leaders had already looted Punjab and Sikh Sangat by doing drama of ‘Raj Nahi Sewa’ and now they should not take political advantage on the resources of the Sikh Sangat.
