Chandigarh, May 19:

 

With aim to conduct the sampling/testing at large level in rural areas, the Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government has launched Mission Fateh 2.

 

Giving details in press release, the Health Minister Mr Balbir Singh Sidhu said that it has been observed that the positivity rate in all rural area is rising alarmingly over the last two weeks and to make the villages corona free as per road map, Additional Deputy Commissioners ( Development) of respective district have been nominated as nodal officers of the District for achieving the target of Mission Fateh 2.

 

Health Minister said that instructions have issued to all districts to conduct RAT Sampling/testing of every person in rural areas.

 

He said that this survey will be completed in15 days to break the chain of coronavirus.

 

Mr. Sidhu said that CHOs have been directed to ensure the monitoring of all patients who were kept under home isolation with the help of their team members. Corona Fateh Kits will be provided to every patient for speedy recovery by the Health department.

 

He added that in every Village , active surveillance survey would be done for Influenza like illness/Severe respiratory infections by ASHA. Data of symptomatic patients will be shared with Community Health Officers (CHOs) and Senior Medical Officer.

 

Mr. Sidhu divulged that Deputy Commissioners will constitute a 3 member committee at Block Level (SDM, SMO & BDPO) and teams will be constituted by this committee for sampling at Village level. He said that teams will include officials from different departments like PRI members, Anganwadi workers, School teachers and youth volunteers etc.

 

Health and Wellness Centres, Mass Media wing of the health department will visit all the villages of the block to dispel rumors/mis-information about vaccination and reduce vaccination hesitancy he said adding that it will make rural people aware about the covid preventive measures and Covid guidelines of the government.

 

Disclosing more about this mission, Mr Sidhu told that ASHA worker will go door-to-door in every village to check for covid symptoms such as fever, cough and shortness of breath. He said that Pulse oximeters will be provided to all Asha for conducting this survey. He said that the information of suspected person will be immediately shared by ASHA with CHO so that the person can be tested for covid and necessary treatment as per protocol will be provided to the patient.

 

Moreover all the Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Health Wellness Centre (HWCs) and Sub-Centres will be provided with adequate logistics like Rapid Antigen Kits, Mission Fateh kits, PPE kits, Pulse Oximeters, Digital Thermometers, Sanitizers, Masks and any other item required to perform their duties.

 

He appealed to the rural population to cooperate with ASHAs and other medical staff for eradicating corona from Punjab.

 

 

80 bedded Temporary Covid Hospital to come up at Mohali :Gets a go-ahead within 24 hours

In order to tackle the COVID crisis by way of providing timely treatment and further ramping up the bed capacity in the state , Government of Punjab through Department of Health has initiated the process of granting approval for setting up of temporary COVID hospitals.

 

First such project at Mohali got NOC within 24 hoursof submission of the application based upon Self Declarations.In order to ensure prompt and hassle-free clearances in these difficult times, relevant Govt departments have made relaxed Standard operating procedures for encouraging people to set up make-shift COVID hospitals in the state.The departments involved are Department of Health,Local Government, Housing and Urban Development, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Public Works Development, and Labor.

 

Invest Punjab has been made the nodal office to facilitate issuance of allrequisite NOCs/in-principle approvals from all concerned departments. The person/group who intends to open a temporary hospital can apply to invest Punjab by simply filling an application form and submitting Self-Declarations. This has been done to ensure that any person/group desirous of opening a makeshift hospital doesn’t need to visit multiple offices and getsthe clearances in a timebound manner.The final authority to issue in-principle approval lieswith Department of Health.

 

The first such in-principle approval up on Self Declarations to immediately start constructionwas granted to M/s Mohali Medical Group Pvt. Ltd for setting up an 80-bedded temporary hospital in Mohali.

 

Sharing the details, Sh. Rajat Agarwal, CEO Invest Punjab said that Invest Punjab facilitated expeditious approval of the project by coordinating with all concerned departments andall the required NOCs were made available to Department of Health for granting approval within 24 hours. All the departments have been working together to battle the COVID crisis and have ensured that every NOC is granted on priority basis. He further said that any person/group with an intention to open a temporary covid hospital can approach Invest Punjab for guidance and necessary facilitation.
