ARRESTED ACCUSED WAS ACTING ON DIRECTIONS OF HIS FOREIGN-BASED HANDLER AMRIT DALAM: DGP GAURAV YADAV
CHANDIGARH/BATALA, November 12: In a major breakthrough amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab, in a joint operation with Batala Police, has apprehended an active member of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Gang and recovered two sophisticated pistols from his possession, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Wednesday.
Police identified the arrested accused as Gurlove Singh, alias Love Randhawa, a resident of Ujagar Nagar in Batala. The recovered pistols include one Zegana pistol along with one magazine and three live cartridges, and one .30 bore pistol along with two magazines and 13 live cartridges.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that preliminary investigation has revealed important information. The arrested accused was acting on the directions of his foreign-based handler, Amrit Dalam.
The DGP said that further investigation is underway to establish forward and backward linkages in this case.

Sharing operational details, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) AGTF Promod Ban provided information. He said that police teams from AGTF coordinated with Batala Police. They acted on reliable inputs and were led by DSP AGTF Rajan Parminder. They have arrested the accused person from T-Point at 60-feet Qadian road in Batala.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Batala Suhail Qasim Mir said that the arrested accused is Gurlove alias Love Randhawa. He has a criminal background. He is involved in cases of Arms Act, theft, house breaking, and endangering human life. Further investigation is underway, he added.
In this regard, Police Station Civil Lines, Batala, registered FIR No. 342 dated 11.11.2025 under Section 25 of the Arms Act.
