The Department of Haematology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, has brought laurels to the institute with a series of remarkable achievements at both national and international scientific platforms.
At Hematocon 2025, held in Lucknow, PGIMER’s team made an exceptional mark. Dr. Sreejesh S, Additional Professor, received the prestigious Dr. K.C. Das Memorial Award 2025 for the best published original study in the field of Laboratory Hematology. Dr. Namrata Kaul won the Best DM Dissertation Award, while Dr. Sananda Kumar, Dr. Paras, and Dr. Aparna clinched the National DM Hematology Quiz, demonstrating outstanding integration of clinical and laboratory expertise.
Adding to the department’s accolades, Nidhi earned the Best Oral Presentation Award, and Dr. Shimreeth Hannah won the Best Poster Award in the Malignant Hematology category.
PGIMER’s excellence also shone on international stages. Dr. Shivani Bansal secured the First Prize for Oral Presentation at AP-IAP 2025, held in Bangkok. Further, at the 17th TCS Annual Conference in Kolkata, Dr. Rakshita Acharya won the Best Oral Presentation Award, while Dr. Meenakumari S received the Travel Award.
These achievements underscore the department’s consistent commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and impactful research, reinforcing PGIMER’s reputation as a leader in hematology education and practice.
