“Losing a loved one is very hard. We are here for you. There are dedicated officers to help you with cremations/burials,” read the message posted by Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan on his twitter handle.
With the assurance that district administration is with the aggrieved, it was informed that eight officers have been appointed area wise to render assistance to the distressed families. Sukhwinder Singh cell no. 98822-01787 would help in Mohali, Balbir Singh Dhaka and Hardarshanjit Singh with cell nos. 82840-018197 and 96460-05032 respectively in Kharar, Varinder Singh 88552-05032 in Zirakpur, Jung Bhadur 97803-31900 in Lalru, Ashok Kumar 96288-00004 in Banur, Rishab Garg 98880-00241 in Dera Bassi, Ram Gopal 97800-21299 in Naya Gaon, and Sher Singh 97800-25188 in Kurali will be extending help to the people in the respective areas.
In the meanwhile, a Central Helpline number 9463775070 has also been created in case the family in distress cannot reach out to the nodal officer.
