A meeting occurred between the PRTC Contract Workers union, led by Ranjodh Singh Hadana, and Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar. During the meeting, officials including Additional Chief Secretary (Transport) D.K. Tiwari, MD Bikramjit Singh Shergill, GM Maninderjit Singh Sidhu and other senior officials were present.

Bhullar stated that the Board of Directors presented the salary increment proposal. They unanimously approved it. The directive was issued to seven departments. The board reached a consensus to frame a policy for regularizing employees under service rules. The Advocate General of Punjab will receive the related file. Senior officials and unions will hold a follow-up meeting. This meeting will finalize the policy.

They also involve regularizing contract workers. Another demand is removing employees from the waiting list for active duties. Additionally, there is an increase in commissions for advance bookers.

Chairman Ranjodh Singh Hadana, during his address, highlighted that PRTC has increased wages for drivers by ₹2500. Punjab Roadways states that it has also given a further 30% increment to other employees. “Employers had previously paid only minimum wages to employees hired after September 15, 2021.” 4o mini.
