Starting a new business used to be difficult. Papers would shuffle back and forth, taking months. But now Punjab has done something extraordinary! In February 2025, 8,075 applications were pending beyond their timeline. This number has now been reduced to just 283. This achievement marks an impressive 96% reduction! At the district level, 833 cases were pending, now only 17 remain – a 98% clearance. Most remarkably, 166 cases at the state level have been completely cleared – 100% completion! Business : Punjab’s FastTrack Portal Simplifies Industrial Approvals
At www.fasttrack.punjab.gov.in, this portal is an investor’s best friend. Over 20 departments including land, environment, fire safety, and forest clearances are now in one place! Just one form, one stamp paper, and everything gets done easily. Under the Punjab Right to Business Act, 2025, all approvals are granted within 45 days. For projects in industrial parks, initial approval comes in 5 days, and 15-18 days for others, based solely on self-declaration. The Revenue Department has launched India’s first online CRO service, providing online certificates for land validity. Authorities have approved 78 out of 134 applications (50%) and are progressing with work on the rest.
This portal is so intelligent that delays simply cannot happen. If any department fails to respond on time, the system automatically approves the application. Smart technology catches errors immediately. Authorities remove old, redundant applications, and if they reject an application, applicants can appeal to an appellate board. SMS and email notifications keep you updated constantly. In the last four months, the authorities processed 87% of 17,006 service applications and 81% of 4,884 license applications on time, approving 85 out of 112 total applications (76%), including 7 auto-approved ones.
Punjab Attracts Rs 29,480 Cr Investment, Creates 67,000 Jobs
From April to September 2025, authorities received 1,295 project applications, attracting investments worth ₹29,480 crores and creating 67,672 jobs. . Since March 2022, 7,414 projects have secured investments of ₹1.29 lakh crores and confirmed 4.6 lakh jobs. The portal has attracted projects worth ₹21,700 crores, representing a 167% increase from 2024 and 110% from 2023. Applications reached 950, showing a 76% growth. Authorities have sold 260 industrial plots and invested ₹300 crores to upgrade 52 industrial areas. Since April 2025, they have distributed ₹150 crores in subsidies, clearing pending dues from previous governments. A mega industrial hub worth ₹7,300 crores is also underway.
Punjab Tops Ease of Doing Business, FastTrack Portal Boosts Growth
Punjab has climbed five positions in the Ease of Doing Business ranking, competing with major states. Investors say, “What used to take months now takes just days!” On @invest_punjab, people are calling it “easy and transparent.” Aam Aadmi Party leader Shri Arvind Kejriwal called it “the country’s biggest business reform” and said, “Punjab is now free from corruption. Investors are returning.”
