Stop building controversies out of thin air – Kainth to Sidhu

People trying to malign an all inclusive government for Political gains – Kainth

Be constructive in this new chapter of Punjab politics, not destructive – NSCA

Chandigarh, 3 October – Paramjit Singh Kainth, President, National Scheduled Castes Alliance gave a stern warning against people trying to disturb the peace in the State for their own political motives. Speaking over the current turmoil that the State Government of Punjab is facing due to the recurrent allegations of Navjot Singh Sidhu against the newly appointed DGP, Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota IPS, Kainth said, ” some negative forces in the state cannot see Punjab having a stable and all inclusive government. They always have to bring up a non-existent issue to bring situations of tension.”

He said, “The Chief Minister has the Constitutional prerogative to decide who he chooses to lead the Police Administration in the State and Mr. Sidhu needlessly pushing an agenda to get the DGP removed seems to have rather ulterior motives behind it. As far as i know, the officer in question has had an unblemished service career and these efforts are just a way for Mr. Sidhu to destabilize the policies and programs which the Chief Minister is trying to implement. He sees his future in danger and hence, feels the need to stay in a mix of controversy some way or the other.”

“The Social fabric of Punjab has suffered immensely in the past few decades due to the rising cases of discrimination and boycott against the Scheduled Castes community and now when things seems to have taken a turn to the positive, people should refrain from making controversies out of thin air. The Political-Administrative Nexus has hurt Punjab in the past and these actions of Mr. Sidhu are certainly an example of what that nexus is about, pressuring the Government to get his way.” said Kainth.
