“Three Arrested, Including Girl Who Allegedly Robbed 11 Lakh at Elante Mall”

 

Chandigarh, 12th March: In a case of robbery of more than 11 lakhs, the industrial area police team has arrested three looters, including the kingpin woman. The identified accused include Jasleen, a resident of Sector-36, along with Rahul (24), a resident of Kajheri, and Rupinder Singh (33), a resident of Phase-3B1, Mohali. Police recovered 5 lakhs 33 thousand 200 rupees from the accused along with a purse containing 100 rupees, Aadhar card, and two passport-sized photos. The accused committed the crime on Monday afternoon when an employee working in Hitachi company’s cash custody collection was returning from the lift of Elante Mall. Rahul works as a private driver among the accused, while Rupinder Singh is a contractor in Jujhar Transport, Mohali, and his girlfriend does not work. Police presented the accused in court where they were remanded in judicial custody. The investigation was initiated under the supervision of SHO Industrial Area Jaspal Singh Bhullar. During the investigation, police suspected that one of the accused involved in the incident had full knowledge of who comes for cash collection on behalf of the company and where it goes. Based on this information, the police arrested all three accused on the basis of old records and informants. Police revealed that the apprehended girl was the mastermind behind the entire incident. According to the police, the accused girl used to work in Ethos located in Elante Mall. She had full information that money collected by Hitachi Cash Management Company was deposited in HDFC Bank after collecting cash from various outlets. She informed the other two accused, Rahul and her boyfriend Rupinder, about this. After that, the accused spent about 2 weeks in reconnaissance and then carried out the incident and fled. On the suspicion of the arrested accused, police recovered 5 lakhs 33 thousand 200 rupees along with a purse containing 100 rupees, Aadhar card, and two passport-sized photos. One bag was found at the scene itself.

What happened?
Sukhbir Singh, a resident of Manimajra, had complained to the police that he works as a cash custodian collection in Hitachi Cash Management Company, Mohali. The complainant informed on 11th March that he had come to the industrial area-based Elante Mall with his team for cash collection. After collecting cash from different outlets, when he returned to his company in the lift, a person in the lift put chili powder in his eyes, and then a person standing outside the lift grabbed two bags from his hand which contained 5 lakhs 80 thousand 200 and 5 lakhs 34 thousand 200 rupees respectively. Besides, a purse containing 100 rupees, Aadhar card, and two photos was also snatched, but one bag was found at the scene itself, containing more than 5 lakhs cash. After committing the crime, the accused fled in a car with a woman. After registering the complaint of the victim, the police started an investigation by registering a case. “
