Jimpa reviews work of water supply department at HO Patiala

- Instructs to give benefit of government schemes to every eligible person as per the directives of CM Bhagwant Mann

– Says negligence in duty would not be tolerated at any cost

– Hands over appointment letters to nine candidates for various posts in Water Supply Department

Chandigarh/Patiala, August 9:

Punjab Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa, today presided over a meeting with high officials at the head office of the Water Supply Department here in Patiala, where he reviewed the ongoing schemes of the department and issued necessary instructions to officials to expedite the work.

He said that as per the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, every effort should be made to ensure that every individual gets basic facilities i.e clean drinking water and sanitation facilities.

During the meeting, he instructed that no negligence in duty would be tolerated at any cost.  Principal Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation Department D.K. Tiwari and HoD Muhammad Ishfaq were also present during the meeting.

Jimpa directed that there should be no delay or negligence in completing the projects. He emphasized that the progress of work should be regularly monitored by the heads of each branch and superintendents of the department. He further said that a transparent and vigilant approach should be adopted in carrying out any new projects to avoid any discrepancies.

Before review meeting, Jimpa handed over appointment letters to 5 clerks, 1 junior assistant and 3 junior technician in Water Supply Department. He said that Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to provide more employment opportunities to the youth of the state. He informed that so far, the Punjab government has provided more than 30,000 government jobs to the youth of state.

Jimpa directed to utilise ‘Water Testing Laboratory’ to collect water samples in villages so that waterborne diseases can be prevented. He emphasized to give better facilities to public. Jimpa also issued instructions to promote officials and employees of the department on time and resolve pension cases without delay.
