this whole scam needs to be investigated by CBI as how come such teachers were recruited:Advocate Harjot Singh Bains Chief Spokesperson AAP
Information under RTI discloses that the student who got 1 mark in English and the other who secured 9 in Mathematics is now teaching in Govt. Primary School.
Social Reformers, An Information Sharing NGO working in the field of RTI and Research & Data Analysis to prevent Corruption & Government malpractices has secured a shocking information under the Right To Information Act which unearths the reason that why the Results and Overall Performance of Govt. Schools have decreased over the past years and why no parent wants to send their children to Government Schools in Punjab. A RTI Application seeking the information regarding details of all the teachers recruited in Punjab in last 10 years who have themselves failed in their matric in Science, Math, Social Sciences, English and Hindi was filed by Harpreet Singh Sandhu, Sarpanch of Village Mohrewala( Ferozepur), vice president of Social Reformers and after long struggle the NGO manage to got the 20% of the information. Till now, information has only been received from various blocks of 10 districts but going by this much information only, data reveals that 313 teachers presently teaching in different govt. primary schools in Punjab were not able to pass in Mathematics, Science, English, Social Science or Hindi during their 10th class. The most shocking figures are of TaranTaran District as the District Education Officer of TaranTaran has also shared the Roll. No. of the teacher and marks secured by him in his matric. As per District Education Officer of TaranTaran we have teachers in Punjab who scored 1 mark in English, 4 in English, 9 in math and such goes the list and we have such other 36 role model teachers in TaranTaran as per the information. In Moga 59 teachers have failed out of which 31 in mathematics, 10 in English, 6 in science, Hindi 1, social science 11. In Shri Muktsar Sahib 50 teachers have failed out of which 28 in Mathematics, 9 in English, 3 in Science & 10 in Social sciences. In Fazilka the information is regarding 31 teachers along with their names school they are teaching, and the subject they have failed. From Ferozepur we have 46 teachers who were not able to pass in mathematics, science, English or Social Science in their matric. In Hoshiarpur as per information there are 45 teachers who have failed out of which 30 failed in Mathematics, 6 in English, 4 in Science, 2 in Hindi and 3 in Social Studies. In Pathankot there are 18 teachers who failed and the list provide their name, rank, schools name and subject they failed, out of these one teacher passed the subject in reexamination. From Ludhiana the biggest District of Punjab, information has been received only from one Block i.e, Doraha and in Doraha block only, we have 19 such teachers who were not able to pass all the subjects in matric. In District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar’s Banga block 5 teacher were not able to clear and the list provided details of the year of their passing the matriculation along with Joining dates, which ranges from year 2007 i.e. the previous Badal Government to as latest as 17.05.2017 the present Captain Amarinder Singh Government. Students of Balachaur block are lucky as all no Primary school teacher failed in any of the subjects here in Matric as per the information. The present information is only from limited blocks of districts and further a serious omission on the part of Officers of Education Department have came out as first they are took undue long time to deliver the whole information and second few officers are trying to mislead. For instance as per the District Education Officer of Sangrur there is no such teacher who failed in any subject in his Matric but as per his subordinate Malerkotla’s Block Education Officer 3 teachers failed in Mathematics and 1 failed in Science. This clearly indicates that the whole and true information is not being revealed willingly.
Revealing the Data Advocate Harjot Singh Bains Chief Spokesperson AAP & Legal Advisor Social Reformers, Rajesh Gupta President, Harpreet Singh Sandhu, Vice President, Dr. Bhagwant Singh Secretary of Social Reformers said that the future of Punjab has been put at stake, and this data clearly makes us understand that why the results of students of Govt. School is on decline. As per this years result around 1 lakh students failed in Mathematics and 70 thousand failed in English and as per the information we have got maximum teachers have failed in mathematics and English only. This somehow reflects that the students are not getting their basic education right that creates trouble for them in higher classes. Further this is the reason that no parent wants to send their children in Punjab government schools and government has to come up with decisions to close the schools. Harjot Singh Bains said that where at one hand Delhi’s Government Schools are making news nationwide for their excellence and infrastructure, here in Punjab we have teachers with 1 mark, 4 marks in mathematics and English and teaching are future generation. He said that this is the biggest scam of Punjab and its worth cannot be calculated in terms of money, as teachers are engineers of souls and due to this scam lakhs of students would have not been able to achieve the heights they deserved in their carrier. He further added that this whole scam needs to be investigated by CBI as how come such teachers were recruited, how many other such teachers we are having and further to add he said that even TET examination is a scam as its papers have been leaked twice and much more details about whole this racket would be shared soon. Harpreet Singh Sandhu Vice President, Social Reformers said that we will approach the High Court on this scam and try to get justice for the young of Punjab. Rajesh Gupta, President of Social Reformers said that the NGO is committed to serve the people of Punjab and will be coming up with many more such issues of Public Importance in near future.
