Punjab to plant 400 saplings in every village to mark the Guru Tegh Bahadur’s 400th Parkash Utsav

Joint Director Rural Development and Panchayat Avtar Singh Bhullar said that in connection with the 400th Prakash Utsav of shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, it was proposed to plant 400 saplings in every village on the pattern of 550th Prakash Utsav of shri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

 

While reviewing the ongoing development works under ‘Smart Village’ scheme at Dhaliwal Dona, Wadala Kalan and Dhepai ​​villages of the kapurthala assembly constituency along with BDPO Amarjit Singh , he said that to provide 100 % basic amenities like sewerage, clean drinking water, concrete streets, construction of parks, open air gyms and 5-5 sports stadiums in each block is in full swing.

 

He said that special attention was being made to complete the development works in the villages on time and maintain the quality, under which the departmental officers BDPOs, Panchayat Secretaries, APOs should visit the villages regularly.

 

He said that on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji, more attention should be paid to the care and maintenance of plants and people of the villages should ensure watering, weeding etc. of the plants during the coming summer season under MGNREGA to Contribute to the environment protection message given by our great Gurus.
