Special Checking Exercises by Chandigarh Police in view of forthcoming Independence Day-2019

Keeping in view of Independence Day-2019, Chandigarh Police is regularly conducting various checking, Nakabandi to avoid any untoward incident in the city. The various operations are undertaken by Chandigarh Police for the maintenance of law & order and also for the purpose of safety and security of citizens.

Flag March Conducted by Police Stations

On 13 & 14.08.2019, Flag marches were conducted by SHOs of six police stations i.e. PS Mani Majra, Mauli Jagra, IT Park, 31, 36 & 49 along with Police Station staff. The flag march/foot patrolling was carried out at New Indira Colony Mani Majra, Village Behlana, Kajheri, Attawa Sector 36, 43, 48, 49, 50, 51 and 63, Chandigarh. Joint flag march by PS Mani Majra, Mauli Jagran and IT Park from PS IT Park to PS Mauli Jagran via PS Mani Majra covering whole area of these police stations was conducted. SHO’s along with staff conducted flag march in Market and residential areas. Announcement regarding security scenario to general public was made. General Public was advised to inform police in case they come across any suspicious object, person and activity.

 

  

Surprise/Special Checking

Chandigarh Police also conducted surprise checking at Hotels, Guest Houses, Sarais, Dharamshalas, Mandir, Gurudwaras, Masjid, Church etc. to keep check on movements of anti-social elements and criminals in the city. A special vigil was kept at these places to rule out any hideouts for the suspects. The staffs of hotel, guest house etc. were briefed by police officials and instructed to keep record of visitors. Total 220 Hotels, Guest Houses, Sarais, Dharamshalas, Mandir, Gurudwaras, Masjid, Church etc. were checked.

                                    

 

 

Nakabandi

To Keep check over the anti-social/terrorist activities, Chandigarh police is conducting Nakabandi in UT, Chandigarh by installing Inner floating Nakas, 02 each per police station and 01 each per police post. Similarly Naka at Outer Barriers and Joint Nakas with Mohali and Panchkula Police are also being laid. All officials deployed at Naka points have ensured checking of suspicious vehicles. Total 1508 vehicles were checked during Nakabandi.

 

These special checking drives are being conducted under the special direction of SSP/UT, Ms. Nilambari Jagadale, IPS. These special drives are being conducted by Police Stations staff under the close supervision of SDPOs and SHOs. All the SDPOs & SHOs have been briefed about the safety, security of citizens especially Women & Children and maintenance of law & order in their respective jurisdictions.
