CM Seeks Support to Make Punjab a Leading State

HANDS OVER APPOINTMENT LETTERS TO NEWLY RECRUITED 250 NURSING OFFICERS

FARIDKOT, DECEMBER 8- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday solicited fulsome support and cooperation of the people to make Punjab a frontrunner state in the country by wiping out all the prevalent social maladies.

Addressing the gathering during a function at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences after inaugurating newly constructed Mother and Child care hospital and handing over appointment letters to 250 Nursing Officers, the Chief Minister further said that Punjabis have been blessed with an indomitable spirit to conquer every field of their choice. He said that due to this Punjabis have proved their mettle across the globe with their hard work and dedication. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now is the time when the Punjabis should join hands to wipe out the curse of social maladies from the state.

The Chief Minister said that Punjabis are born entrepreneurs and leaders due to which they have excelled in every arena across the globe. He said that the hard work and resilience of the Punjabis is unmatched owing to which they shine in every sphere. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is making all out efforts to utilise this spirit properly for progress of the state and carve out a ‘Rangla Punjab’.

The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction for all as 10 players in the Indian Hockey contingent, that recently bagged gold medal in Asian games, are from Punjab. He said that Punjab government has laid major thrust on the promotion of games in the state thereby channelizing the unbounded energy of youth in a positive direction. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the result of this is that Punjabis have bagged 19 medals in the recently concluded Asian games, which is the highest tally of states in Asiad, since its inception.

The Chief Minister said that he is blessed to be part of this function here on the pious land of Baba Sheikh Farid adding that the life and philosophy of Baba Farid was very much relevant in today’s materialistic society. He said that the teachings of Baba Farid were a source of inspiration for the coming generations to serve humanity with utmost zeal and dedication. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that people from all sections of society participate in the Baba Farid Aagman Purab Mela every year with full religious passion and fervor.

The Chief Minister envisioned that in a step aimed at imparting quality health services to people, a Mother and Child clinic has been dedicated to the people. He said that this newly constructed hospital will act as a catalyst to impart quality health care to pregnant women and newly born children. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the move is aimed to ensure that people get quality health services in these hospitals.

The Chief Minister, while congratulating newly appointed 250 Nursing officers, exhorted them to serve the people with missionary zeal as now they have become integral part of the government. Bhagwant Singh Mann hoped that the new recruits will use their posts for helping the needy and underprivileged sections of society. He said that the newly recruited youth should ensure maximum welfare of the public so that every section of society is benefited from it.

The Chief Minister said that due to callousness of previous regimes government jobs were earlier a ‘distant dream’ for the youth of the state whereas his government has ensured that youth get the jobs as per their merit for which a transparent mechanism has been evolved. He said that the earlier government lacked the commitment and zeal to serve the masses in true sense due to which these jobs were far away from the youth. However, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that within a year of formation of their government they have given more than 38000 jobs to the eligible youth completely on merit basis.

The Chief Minister said that those youth who have not been able to still crack the exam for government jobs should not lose heart and should continue to work hard as thousands of government jobs are in pipeline. Likewise, he said that those who have got these jobs should not feel satisfied and should work hard for better opportunities ahead. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that neither this should be the first government job of these youth nor it should be the last as the sky is the limit for the hard working youth in the state.

The Chief Minister urged the youth not to feel proud of their achievement but to stay humble and work hard for more success. He said that confidence and a positive approach should be basic traits of everyone’s personality but there should be no pride in it. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is the key to success for scripting  the success in every field adding that this should be implemented in right earnest.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to holistic development of the state and prosperity of its people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that no stone is being left unturned for this noble cause to ensure that Punjab emerges as the front ranking state in the country. He said that the state government has already taken several path breaking measures including introduction of several pro-people and development oriented policies.
