Chandigarh, January 29 : The members of the Punjab School Education Board Daily Wage Employees Union Mohali and the Punjab State Co-operative Boards, Corporations, Employees/Workers Mahasangh actively visited Harchand Singh Barsat, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab General Secretary, and Punjab Mandi Board Chairman, on Monday.

Demands to regularise temporary employees

During the meeting, they actively shared detailed information about their demands and actively handed over a letter addressed to the Chief Minister of Punjab.

The members of the Punjab School Education Board Daily Wage Employees Union Mohali actively stated that the Punjab government issued a policy in October 2022 to regularise 525 temporary employees of the board along with 8736 temporary teachers.

The union asserted that despite forming a 7-member committee and actively sending all related work to the government, no action has been taken to date.

They emphasized that they held several meetings with higher authorities regarding this issue, but no solutions emerged.

Additionally, union members demanded action against corrupt officers, citing the Punjab government’s zero-tolerance policy for corruption.

They underscored that despite the policy, no action has been taken against corrupt officers responsible for its implementation. They urged Barsat to ensure prompt action against these officers.

Chairman of Punjab Mandi Board Harchand Singh Barsat actively assured the union members that he would actively convey all their demands to the Chief Minister and actively work to resolve the issues promptly. He actively emphasised that the Punjab government always stands with its employees and will continue working for their betterment in the future.
