Health Minister Urges Pvt Hospitals to Join Farishtey Scheme

CHANDIGARH, January 22: Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh Calls on Private Hospitals to Join ‘Farishtey Scheme’ for Prompt Road Accident Victim Care”

“Dr. Balbir Singh, Health Minister, encourages private hospitals in Punjab to register for the ‘Farishtey Scheme,’ providing free treatment to all road accident victims within the critical ‘Golden Hour.'”

“The Punjab Government aims to ensure non-discriminatory, free treatment for road accident victims, irrespective of nationality, caste, or socio-economic status, at nearby hospitals, including private ones.”

AS PART OF FARISHTEY SCHEME, PERSON TAKING ROAD ACCIDENT VICTIM TO HOSPITAL WILL BE HONOURED AND REWARDED WITH RS 2000: DR BALBIR SINGH

“The Health Minister emphasizes the importance of private healthcare institutions‘ support, urging tertiary and secondary care hospitals to join the scheme. Empanelled hospitals will be compensated according to defined package rates, with 52 packages covering roadside victims’ treatment.”

“The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Punjab supports the ‘Farishtey Scheme,’ and Dr. Balbir Singh urges other hospitals to register. Currently, 384 hospitals are registered, including 146 public and 238 private hospitals.”

“Under the scheme, anyone taking a road accident victim to the hospital will be rewarded with Rs 2000, with no questioning by police or hospital authorities unless the person wishes to become an eyewitness.”

Scheme’ aligns with Supreme Court directives, urging the public to bring accident victims to the nearest government or empanelled private hospitals.
