DSP Charanjit Singh

Sh. Charanjit Singh joined Chandigarh Police on 03.04.1989 as ASI. He was promoted to the rank of Sub Inspector on 09.12.1993 and Inspector on 15.10.2009. Administration was pleased to promote him as DSP on 30.01.2018. His first posting as DSP was at RTC and thereafter served as DSP Traffic, DSP Women & Child Support Unit, & as PRO of Chandigarh Police. He is also an outstanding sports person and won gold medal in 1994 in boxing event at Pune by representing Chandigarh state through Chandigarh Police. While posted in specialized units, he performed his duties in professional manner to prevent and detect the crime. He also served in United Nation Peace Keeping Mission in KOSOVO (2002-2003) being candidate of Indian Contingent and performed his duties to the entire satisfaction of Senior Officers.  He caught most wanted criminal namely Ranpal Singh Gujjar while posted as Incharge Police Post Neelam in 2004-2005. He was posted as I/C PP-22, SHO-39, SHO-MM, EOW, IRB and other units of Chandigarh Police. During posting in PP Neelam, Crime Branch he also unearthed a racket involved in Human Trafficking and recovered 49 passports and 15 persons were arrested.  While posted as SHO/PS-39, he solved many heinous crime cases as well as other cases pertaining to snatching, theft, Burglary etc. As SHO/Manimajra, he remain associated with many heinous crime cases and most of them were solved and accused were convicted.  He also played a vital role while setting up One IR Battalion of Chandigarh for timely completion of barracks and other infrastructure for Jawans and others. Under his supervision, training of IRB personnel was completed with BSF Dimapur (Nagaland).  Due to his hardwork, devotion to duty, professionalism, attitude he was awarded with State award i..e Administrator Police Medal for Meritorious Services on the eve of Republic Day 2012  and for Distinguished services on Independence Day 2017. During posting as DSP/Traffic East, he has organized many functions during celebration of 30th National Road Safety Week for which he was appreciated by SSP/Traffic.

Inspector Parvesh Sharma

Inspector Parvesh Sharma joined Chandigarh Police as Constable in 1990 and selected as ASI in 1991. She was promoted as Sub Inspector in 1996 and Inspector in 2010. Presently, She is in-charge PCR unit under her supervision PCR staff caught many culprits of heinous crime and performing hard duty very professionally and efficiently. During her service she remained in various units of Chandigarh Police and completed different courses like Stress Management, Scientific Aids to investigation, Human Rights, Interviewing Skills from NHRC. While posted in Police Station, she apprehended number of accused and recovered case property and also investigated heinous cases of murder, NDPS and Rape etc.  She has also undergone Police Commando Course with A-grade. She has also done Police Administration with distinction from GND University, Amritsar and awarded with Gold Medal and silver medal in Gandhian studies from Panjab University Chandigarh. During her tenure she served in UN Mission in Kosovo and UN Mission South Sudan. Due to her dedication she has been decorated with award for best international Police Officer and appreciated by Commissioner of Un Mission. She also won Silver Medal in 10000 meters race, Bronze Medal in Triple Jump in 32nd National Masters Athlete Championship 2011 and also participated in the World Master Athletics Championship 2011 held at Sacramento California (USA).  Being good sports person she has been awarded best athlete of Chandigarh Police and completed 25 km walk with 10 kg weight in KOSWO & 8 KM Mini Marathon hosted by UN Cares-South Sudan. She also played an important role in organizing of mega events by Chandigarh Police like General Lok Sabha Election in 1996, All India Police Hockey Championship and being a Chief Law Instructor in training unit of Chandigarh police. During posting as SHO/PS-34, She played a vital role in community policing and maintaining law & order and prevention and detection of crime. She has been awarded for distinguished and meritorious services by Chandigarh administration.

Inspector Ranjit Singh

While posted as Incharge PP Mouli Jagran  he arrested Kallu @ Suni Gang, Sonu @ Bakriwala and Dhamma Gang who were involved in various criminal cases like robbery, Dacoity, Burglary, Motor Vehicle theft and the case was worked out. As SHO, Police Station Central, he played a vital role in solving 02 murder cases within 24 hours and arrested 06 accused and also nabbed a Kisanmandi Auto Lifter Gang.  In year 2015, He again played pivotal role in solving of cases of snatching by arresting chain snatcher gang and solved 11 case registered at different police stations.  As SHO PS Maloya, one blind brutal rape case of minor girl aged 8 years was worked out and accused was convicted with life imprisonment with fine of rupee one lac.  In another case he has arrested one notorious snatcher/absconder namely chinu who was involved in 20 snatching cases.  While posted as incharge Crime Branch, he apprehended the kingpin of the gang namely [email protected] of New Delhi and recovered a car having registration No. DL3C-DZ-2007 with some equipments/articles and a robbery of rs. 45lacs was also solved. He also solved  3 cases of burglaries and recovered Jewellary/diamond ornaments worth Rs. 38 Lacs. Being a member of SIT team in FIR No. 194/2016 u/s 392,34 IPC & 25/54/59 Arms Act, arrested the accused  who was involved in heinous case.  As SHO/MM, played a significant role in solving a murder case within 04 hours in FIR No. 240 dt. 21.05.2018 u/s 302, 34 IPC and accused [email protected] Boomla was arrested within two days.  Under his supervision another case FIR No 316/2018 u/s 376D, 506 IPC (Morni Gang Rape) was registered and after investigation, the case was transferred to Panchkula Police.  He has also arrested 35 Proclaimed offenders declared by various courts.


Sub Inspector Amarjit Singh


He remained posted in various units of Chandigarh Police i.e. PS-19, PS-26, PS-34 and PS-39 and performed duties with dedication, devotion and with entire satisfaction of Senior Officers and played a vital role in assisting Investigation Officers in many cases.   Presently, he is serving in CID Wing of Chandigarh Police and performing duties of Line Officer which leads all types of work of the CID Wing.  He is honest, efficient and hard working police officer and also incharge of Student Head which is crucial heads being students stuff.  He also performs his duties which are entrusted to him by Senior Officers with devotion and dedication.  He has been also entrusted with important/sensitive duties besides his routine official duties assigned to him.  He is also a captain of  Kabaddi Team of Chandigarh Police   for more than 15 years and won Gold, Silver, Bronze medals during participation and State Level, All India North Zone Police Games, National Games and All India A-Grade Tournament.  For his excellent professional competence for gathering intelligence regarding notorious persons, Dharna, Railly etc and commendable service, he has been awarded with Administrator Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the eve of Independence Day 2015 and also earned 52 Commendations Certificates during his entire service.
