Cabinet Minister inaugurates petrol pump at Bhogpur sugar mill

Says, move aims at further strengthening cooperative socities by generating multiple source of income for them

Reiterates Punjab Government commitment to reviving cooperative structure in the state

Chandigarh/Jalandhar, June 23-

In a bid to further strengthen the cooperative structure in the state, Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh on Friday inaugurated newly set up Indian Oil Petrol Pump at Bhogpur Cooperative Sugar Mill.

Giving more information, the Minister said that the move has been taken to create multiple income sources for the cooperative Sugar Mills Ltd. Bhogpur  so that they can explore new opportunities for their success. He said that the land for this fuel station has been provided by the Bhogpur Sugar Mill while Indian Oil Corporation has taken the initiative to set its retail outlet in the premises of the mill. Mr. Singh further mentioned that this joint-venture would ensure quality products and services to the customers with the assurance of the trusted Indian Oil Corporation brand.

The minister said that the need of the hour was to give further fillip to the Cooperative movement for which the state government was making concerted efforts.

The  minister said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann  was firmly committed to restore the pristine glory of the state. He said that the state government was duty-bound to put the state on high growth trajectory, for which strenuous effort were already afoot.

Pointing out further, GM Bhopur Sugar Mill Gurvinder Pal Singh stated that the petrol pump is located at Bhogpur to Bullowal Road, a prominent place where heavy vehicular movement can be seen on a daily basis. He added that this pump would remain open for all passengers/commuters who can take the benefit of quality products of IOC. He stated that the entire operation of this fuel station would be carried out by the mill as requiste staff has already been deployed here. He thanked Punjab Government for taking up this unique initiative to further strengthen the cooperative sector in the state.

          On the occasion MLA Urmur Tanda Jasvir Singh Gill (Raja), AAP leader Jit Lal Bhatti, DGM Indian Oil Corporation Limited Rajan Beri, Chairman Sugar Mill Bhogpur Paramvir Singh, General Manager CSM Bhogpur, Gurvinder Pal Singh, Director Manjit Singh, Vice Chairman Parminder Singh Malhi, Director Harjinder Singh Naryal and others were also present.
