Congress to intensify protests against Sarari

CHANDIGARH, October 8: Punjab Congress will intensify its agitation against continuance of the tainted minister Fauja Singh Sarari in the Bhagwant Singh Mann cabinet. “Sarari deserves to be in jail and not in the cabinet”, the party said.

Disclosing this here today, PCC president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and the Congress Legislative Party leader Partap Singh Bajwa said, the party will stage state-wide protest demonstrations at all district headquarters on Monday, October 10 to press for immediate dismissal of Sarari from the government in the wake of disclosures made by his own OSD.

The PCC president and the CLP Leader said, the continuance of Sarari in the government is a slap on its claims of being an honest government. “It clearly proves that when the government sacked Vijay Singla on the allegations of corruption, it was just a drama ahead of Sangrur parliamentary bye-election”, they observed, adding, if they were really sincere against corruption, Sarari should not be in the government but behind the bars.
