EDUCATION MINISTER ORDERS SUSPENSION OF 3 INCLUDING DISTRICT MANAGER MOHALI DEPOT FOR DERELICTION OF DUTY

DURING SURPRISE CHECK MINISTER FOUND ENGLISH SUBJECT BOOKS HAVEN’T BEEN SUPPLIED TO CHILDREN AS YET

ALSO ORDERED TO ISSUE SHOW CAUSE NOTICE TO DISTRICT EDUCATION OFFICER MOHALI (ELEMENTARY) AND CONCERNED BLOCK EDUCATION OFFICER

Chandigarh, May 30:

          School Education Minister of Punjab Mr. Harjot Singh Bains has ordered to suspend immediately   Bhagwan Singh District Manager Mohali Depot, Lakhan Singh Deputy Manager Mohali Depot and Jaspreet Singh Statistical Assistant Punjab School Education Board for dereliction of duty.

          The Minister of School Education Mr. Harjot Singh Bains, has gone for surprise checking in Government Primary School Lambayan in  District SAS Nagar. During the inspection, fifth class students of the school brought to the attention of the Minister that they have not yet received the English subject book, after which the education minister immediately summoned concerned officials of the Punjab School Education Board with data.

          After perusal of the data revealed that 3500 books were not printed due to negligence of officials and employees due to which 1135 Students in Dera Bassi block and 1400 Students in Banur block did not receive English subject books yet.

Considering the seriousness of the matter, School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has ordered to Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department to suspended District Manager Mohali Depot Bhagwan Singh, Lakhan Singh Deputy Manager Mohali Depot and Jaspreet Singh Statistical Assistant of Punjab School Education Board on the charge of dereliction of duty.

          Bains also ordered to issue a show cause notices to the District Education Officer Mohali (Elementary) and the Block Education Officer.
