337 kg of adulterated food was seized and destroyed, Arrest two culprits

As per the directions of Dr Balbir Singh, Hon’ble Health & FW Minister and  Ajoy Sharma,  Administrative Secretary Department of Health & FW, various teams of Food & Drugs Administration (FDA), Punjab has started a special drive under the direct supervision of Dr Abhinav Trikha, Commissioner FDA Punjab, as part of which surveys, random checks and raids are being conducted across the state to check the sale of adulterated and unhygienic food items, especially in view of the  festival season rush.

Glimpses of one such drive held today in district Amritsar. The team here found total of 337 kgs Spurious Khoya and destroyed the same on the spot. The FDA team also seized the samples and coordinated with local police for arrest of two culprits on the spot for further investigation.
