CM inaugurates and lays foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs. 146 crore for Churah c

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a largely attended public meeting at Banjraru in Chamba district today after dedicating developmental projects worth about Rs. 146 crore for Churah constituency announced opening of Degree College at Masroond near Kotla area, opening of a Government Girls Senior Secondary School at Tissa, opening of PHCs at Bairagarh and Kohal, opening of Primary Schools at Kathal, Biyala and Khanguru and upgradation of Government High Schools Kandla and Bharadha to Senior Secondary Schools and upgradation of three middle schools to high schools. He said that parking would also be constructed at Banjraru to facilitate the people of the area.

Chief Minister said that inauguration and foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs. 146 crore were befitting reply to the people, who were questioning the unprecedented development in the State. He said that despite the Corona pandemic, the State Government has ensured speedy and alround development of the State. He said that this was possible due to the indigenous vaccine developed and provided by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi free of cost to the people of the country. He said that opposition leaders even tried to politicize the sensitive issue of vaccination.

Jai Ram Thakur while making a scathing attack on AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal said that he has no understanding of tradition and culture of the Dev Bhoomi. He said that the people of the State were hardworking and sincere and would not tolerate foul language for its leaders. He said that it was strange that a person living in air-conditioned rooms at Delhi was speaking about development model for the State. He said that people of the State were wise enough and would not get carried away by false promises of Arvind Kejriwal.

Chief Minister said that each and every day of the State Government was dedicated for development of the State and welfare of its people.  He said that the very first decision of the State Government was aimed at welfare of the senior citizens. He said that over Rs. 1300 crore were being spent on providing social security pension to the vulnerable sections of the society as compared to only Rs. 400 crore spent during the Congress tenure. He said that Sahara Yojna, HIMCARE, Jan Manch, CM Helpline 1100, Grihini Suvidha Yojna, Shagun Yojna etc. have virtually transformed life of the poor and the downtrodden.

Jai Ram Thakur said that Congress remained in power for long in the State, but they did nothing new to ensure welfare of the weaker sections of the society. He said that the Congress leaders were not even able to digest the welfare scheme initiated by the present State Government. He said that terming the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes as ‘Sponger’ (Muftkhors) was indeed a disrespect to the poor and the needy. He said that announcements made by him on the occasion of Himachal Day on 15th of this month were also not going well with the Congress leaders. He said that the State Government has decided to provide 125 units of power free to the consumers, 50 per cent concession in fare in HRTC buses to women passengers and free drinking water to the consumers in rural areas.

Earlier the Chief Minister inaugurated 10 developmental projects worth Rs. 48.77 crore which includes Rs. 3.13 crore Jhajakathi to Matiyund road, Rs. 11.20 crore Kalash Sameep Kakhri to Seu  road, Rs. 3.26 crore upgradation of Kella Dugali Dand road Sausad, Rs. 16.02 crore upgradation of Tissa Satyas road , Rs. 4.15 crore of Bhurah to Mangli road, Rs. 2.61 crore Link road to Junas village, Rs. 5.51 crore Kaithli Janddroh road, Rs. 1.73 crore bridge over Bhangi Nala on Tarela Bonderi Mangli road, Rs. 44 lakh Ayurvedic Hospital building at Banjraru and  Rs. 82 lakh  Kasturba Gandhi Girls Hostel building at Tissa.

Chief Minister also laid foundation stones of 14 developmental projects for the constituency worth about Rs. 97 crore which includes Rs. 23.83 crore Lift Water Supply Scheme for Gram Panchayats Kandla, Pukhri, Dular, Sirkundi, Keyana etc, Rs. 4.59 crore improvement work of water supply scheme for gram panchayat Khushnagri and Guwadi, Rs. 2.85 crore improvement and augmentation of water supply scheme for gram panchayat Ghulai, Rs. 1.68 crore water supply scheme for villages of gram panchayat Charodi, Rs. 1.33 crore water supply scheme for villages of gram panchayat Lasvi, Rs. 24.77 crore augmentation and improvement of various water supply schemes for gram panchayats Sanwal, Shella Beri, Dehgram, Jajha kothi, Thanaikothi, Kuther etc., Rs. 10 crore augmentation and improvement of various water supply schemes for gram panchayats Bonderi, Junas, Guyela etc, Rs. 1.08 crore Building of the office of SE Jal Shakti Division Tissa, Rs. 7.60 crore Chandi- Badoh via Bhatoli road, Rs. 4.53 crore improvement, metaling tarring work of Kandla, Bangati, Bhalod road, Rs. 8.59 crore ITI Building Koti, Rs. 70 lakh Student’s Centre Building of Government Degree College Tissa, Rs. 4.05 crore General facility/Former’s Training Centre at Sub Divisional Veterinary Hospital Tissa and Rs. 1.29 crore Science Block in Government Senior Secondary School Tissa.

Chief Minister was accorded rousing welcome on his arrival at Banjraru (Tissa) with hundreds of people lined up on both sides of the road from helipad to the rally venue at Banjraru. He was also honoured by various social, political and cultural organizations on the occasion. He also paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratan Atal Bihari Vajpayee by garlanding his statue at Banjraru.

Member of Parliament Kishan Kapoor said that Chamba district has witnessed unprecedented development during the last over four years under the leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. He said that the Government of India has also selected Chamba for its ambitious aspirational district programme. He said that this has ensured adequate funds for development of the district. He also cautioned the people of the State against the false propaganda of AAP leader. He said that the Delhi Chief Minister claims that he was an honest and common man, but he came to attend the rally at Shahpur in Kangra district yesterday in a chartered plane.

Deputy Speaker State Vidhan Sabha and local MLA Dr. Hans Raj while welcoming the Chief Minister to his home constituency said that Chief Minister has not only ensured speedy development of the State without any discrimination, but has given special focus on development of backward and tribal areas. He said that people of Chamba district were thankful to the Chief Minister for his benevolence and would ensure that the BJP wins all the five vidhan sabha seats in the district. He said that the State Government has ensured that every section of the society gets benefits of the welfare policies and programmes of the State Government. He also detailed a few developmental demands of the area.

Chief Whip Bikram Singh Jaryal, MLA Bharmour Jia Lal, MLA Chamba Pawan Nayyar, District BJP President Jasbir Nagpal, Vice Chairman SC/ST Corporation Jai Singh, Chairman HPMC Chamba D.D. Thakur, Churah Mandal BJP President Tara Chand were present on the occasion among others.
