DR S.S. AHLUWALIA APPROVES 31 CLEAN WATER AND SEWERAGE PROJECTS
WATER SUPPLY AND SEWERAGE BOARD APPROVES PROJECTS WORTH 103 CRORES

Today, at the office of the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Sector 27, Chandigarh, a significant meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr S.S. Ahluwalia, Chairman of the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board, with officials from the department.
During this meeting, S Malwinder Singh Jaggi, CEO of the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board, and the Secretary of the Information and Public Relations Department, Punjab, initiated the proceedings. A resolution for 31 projects related to water supply and sewerage works in various cities of Punjab, with a total worth of 103 crore rupees, was presented. Dr. S.S Ahluwalia promptly approved this resolution without delay.
The 31 approved projects, totaling 103 crore rupees, encompass several cities in Punjab, including Arniwala, Fazilka, Talwara, Bhadson, Balachaur, Budhlada, Bareta, Amloh, Handiaya, Bhadaur, Mandi Gobindgarh, Sangrur, NawanShahr, Sirhind, Dhuri, Gurdaspur, Ghanaur, Sangat Mandi, Maur Mandi, Talwandi Sabo, Jaiton Town, Batala Town, Samana, Nabha, and Rajpura.
Dr. S.S Ahluwalia stated on this occasion, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board have accomplished numerous projects in different cities of Punjab over the past year and a half. Sewerage treatment plants worth crores of rupees are currently in progress in various cities of Punjab and are expected to be completed in the coming months. With an allocation of 103 crore rupees, we will install new drinking water lines, tube wells, and sewerage lines in various cities of Punjab.”
He further added that the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is working extensively to conserve underground water. Projects are being developed to maximize the use of canal water and convert it into potable water in several cities of Punjab. Recognizing the significant decline in underground water levels in Punjab, the Punjab government is taking crucial steps to preserve it.
