JALANDHAR ADMINISTRATION PROVIDES 1.25 LAKH LITRES MILK AND 3206 QUINTAL FRUITS AND VEGETABLES TO PEOPLE AT THEIR DOORSTEPS

Jalandhar, March 26-
Continuing its spree to deliver the essential items to the people at their doorsteps, the district administration today supplied 1,25,000 litres of milk, medicines and 1100 quintals of fruits and vegetables to the residents.
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma tried to ensure these supplies in every nook and corner of the city. Since morning the officers of Milkfed led by General Manager Mr. Rupinder Singh Sekhon swung into action to ensure that majority of households in the district were covered with Milk supply. The officers and staff supplied 1.25 lakh litres of Milk to the people of the district. The milk supply was distributed through the authorised dealers of Verka in every locality.
Similarly, teams led by Drug Control Officer Ms Kamal Kamboj streamlined the supply of drugs and medicines in the district by ensuring smooth coordination between drug stockists, retailers and people. Ms. Kamboj personally led from the front and remained stationed at Sri Ram Chowk (PNB Chowk) from where she monitored the supply of medicines. She also coordinated with the control room where the demand of drugs was being raised by people and ensured that most of it was delivered in time.
In the same manner, 3206 quintals of fruits and vegetables were also supplied in the city by staff led by District Mandi officer. The staff ensured that people do not face any sort of trouble during the days of curfew.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma reiterated that efforts would be continue to ensure that people do not face any sort of problem. He said that the mechanism has been evolved to ensure that these services were readily provided. Mr Sharma said that people should not get panic and assured them that administration was with them in this hour of crisis.
