Inauguration of Digitalisation Branch at the Office of the Advocate General, Punjab by Vinod Ghai, AG Punjab

The Office of the Advocate General, Punjab, takes great pride in announcing the inauguration of its Digitalisation Branch on the 24th of July. This momentous occasion marks a significant leap forward in embracing technology and advancing towards a paper-free office environment.

The Digitalisation Branch aims to streamline and enhance the efficiency of case file management through the digitalisation of case records and documents. This transformational initiative is set to revolutionize the way legal proceedings are handled within the office and before the Court, benefiting both the law officers, state departments and the public alike.

 

Through the adoption of state-of-the-art technology, the Office of the Advocate General, Punjab, is committed to achieving the following key objectives:

 

1. Efficiency and Accessibility: Digitalisation will expedite case file processing, ensuring quicker access to information, thereby expediting legal proceedings and promoting timely justice.

 

2. Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility: By reducing paper usage, the AG office will actively contributing to environmental conservation and embracing eco-friendly practices.

 

3. Enhanced Security: The implementation of robust data security measures will protect sensitive information, maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality.

 

4. User-Friendly Interface:* The digitalisation process includes the development of a user-friendly platform, ensuring ease of navigation and accessibility for all stakeholders involved.

 

The inauguration event, scheduled for the 24th of July, witnessed the presence of the Ld AG Vinod Ghai himself, Sh IPS Dhanna, Sr Additional AG, Aman Pal (head of Office), esteemed dignitaries from the Bar, law officers, office staff, members of the IT Committee (Anu Pal, Abhay Pal Gill, Arjun Sheoran, Arun Gupta) and representatives from various governmental bodies. The event was addressed by Ld AG who spoke about the significance of digitalisation in the legal domain and government litigation and how it will pave the way for a more efficient and technologically advanced justice system. The Ld AG also cut the ribbon of the dedicated room for the digitalisation branch with the latest technology and representatives from all administrative branches. Thereafter a detailed presentation of the vision for the digitalisation of the AG Office was made before all dignitaries who appreciated the efforts.

 

Together, the Office of AG Punjab is envisioning a future where technology and law converge, empowering the justice system to serve the people of Punjab with greater efficacy and fairness. This landmark event will be a stepping stone to a more digitized and progressive legal landscape.
