Tewari donates Open Air Gymnasiums worth Rs 20 lakhs to Mohali & Chandigarh 

 

Mohali /CHANDIGARH, May 1: Sri Anandpur Sahib MP & Former Union Minister Manish Tewari has donated open Air Gymnasiums worth Rs 20 lakhs in Mohali and Chandigarh.

Speaking on the occasion of inauguration of a state of the art facility in Sector 74 in Mohali, Mr Tewari said that “this modern equipment will help people, particularly the youth, to get easy and free access for physical training.

These Open Air Gymnasiums will be installed in Punjab Engineering Colleges, Sector 12, Ward No 19 Ram Darbar and Dhanas in Chandigarh.

Mr Tewari also inaugurated an open Air Gymnasium and a solar lighting system in Sector 74 in Mohali.

Tewari emphasized the need for health and physical fitness for everyone. He said, it is not only the youth who need to be physically fit, even the aged and elderly should do regular physical exercises to maintain good health. He said, with a growing sedentary lifestyle, people have become prone to many diseases which can easily be avoided by regular physical exercise.

Interacting with youth, Tewari told them that they were the future of the country. “In whatever field you go, you should excel and for everything you do, you will need to be physically and mentally fit”, he told them, while pointing out, “you need a medical fitness certificate before joining any job or service”.

The local residents expressed their gratitude to Tewari for getting modern equipment installed in the gyms.

Among others present on the occasion included Tejinder Pal Singh, President, Chander Mukhi Sharma, Aman Slatch, Jaspreet Singh Gill MC, Advocate Mukesh Mehra.
