# Election Commission announces 4th Feb for the Vidhan Sabha Elections for the Punjab and goa states, Code of conduct comes into immediate effect

Election Commission has announced the election dates for the Punjab and Goa. The elections will have single phase polls which is to be held on 4th Feb’2017. On this date voters can vote for their candidates for the Vidhan Sabha Elections. The Last date for filing Nomination forms for punjab elections is 18-01-2017 and candidates can withdraw their nominations by the end of 21-01-2017.Th result of these elections will be declared on 11-03-2017.Model code of conduct comes into with immediate effect. Dr Zaidi said no use of loudspeakers from 10 pm to 6 am.He also stated 1,85,000 polling stations will be covered for five states.The total number of voters is 16 crores for the elections for 5 states.
Goa has 40 assembly seats, Manipur has 60, Punjab has 117, Uttarakhand has 70 while Uttar Pradesh has 403.

The Uttar Pradesh Assembly term ends on May 27.Assemblies of Punjab, Goa and Manipur are completing their term on March 18 while the Uttrakhand Assembly’s term is up to March 26.
