SSP Malerkotla Suspends and Shifts Two Officers to Police Lines

INDISCIPLINE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AT ANY COST- SSP KHAKH

SSP MALERKOTLA ACTS TOUGH, SUSPENDS TWO OFFICERS AND SHIFTS THEM TO POLICE LINES

Malerkotla DECEMBER 22

Acting tough against the undisciplined members of the force known for its dedication, valour and sacrifice in the country, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh on Friday suspended two police officers after finding them ‘negligent and careless’ in in their duties and dealing with the complaints.

In first order, SSP Khakh ordered unconditional suspension of Sub-Inspector Sukhchain Singh, the Investigating Officer-in-Charge posted at Himmatpura Chowki under Police Station Amargarh over the irregularities in investigative procedures. It was found that Sukhchain Singh was frequently not present in his designated area during night duty hours and further, theft cases were also witnessing upwards trend.

In a second decisive move, Khakh also suspended Steno Typist Ram Gopal. This action comes in response to written complaints from four police constables stationed at Police Lines alleging that Ram Gopal was unnecessarily disturbing police personnel and demanding favours also from local people.

SSP Khakh said that upholding professional discipline and integrity was the duty of every uniformed officer and made it clear that laxity would attract only strictest action as per service rules.

“We are committed for a fair, transparent and upright policing service and those not upholding standards will face consequences,” said SSP Khakh. He said that Punjab Police had a glorious history of valour and sacrifice and such behavior will not be tolerated at any cost.
