DC, SSP Meet Village Defense Committee on Anti-Drug Measures

FAZILKA, FEBRUARY 19:updatepunjab  Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal and SSP Virinder Singh Brar hold a meeting with the members of the Village Defense Committee to discuss government measures against drug trafficking from across the border.

Support from Border Villages:

Dr. Senu Duggal, the Deputy Commissioner, highlighted the support from border village residents to security forces. She emphasized the critical need to promptly report any observed drone activity to the police or Border Security Force (BSF)..

Efforts to Counter Infiltration:

Concerning attempts by anti-national elements to infiltrate drugs and weapons across the border, the administration vows to thwart such efforts with the help of local communities.

Encouragement for Information Sharing:

SSP Virinder Singh Brar encourages villagers to freely share information about drug trafficking with the police, assuring confidentiality for informers.

Role of Village Defense Committee (VDS):

Village Defense Committees (VDS) in Fazilka district, composed of prominent villagers, actively coordinate with the district administration and police, crucially contributing to border security.
