Chandigarh, July 7 : BJP Sikh leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa today lashed out at AAP Government of Punjab led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann for not ensuring life sentence for those convicted in sacrilege cases and instead patting their back for their conviction with minor sentence.

In a statement released here today, Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that it was shocking to see that AAP MP Raghav Chadhas was patting his back for 3 years imprisonment awarded to guilty of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib. He said that even in Black buck poaching case imprisonment of five years were awarded. He said that this judgement has exposed tru face of AAP Punjab which is working undercover to protect the disciples of ‘Babas’ involved in sacrilege matter which was shameful.

He also reminded Punjab Chief Minister that Punjab Assembly had already passed amendments in Indian Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure making sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib an offence punishable upto life imprisonment. He said that it was most shameful to see that AAP Government didn’t press for life imprisonment of guilty and was beaming on only three year sentence to the guilty of Guru Granth Sahib.

He said that it was known to everyone that Sikh organizations were fighting these cases with such a passion and they were now surprised at conduct of AAP Government led by Mr. Bhagwant Mann in matter of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib.
