REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGES UNDER ANAND MARRIAGE ACT TO BEGIN SOON IN UP

New delhi, August 5 : The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister  Yogi Adiyanath has said that registration of  marriages under the Anand Marriage Act will begin soon in the state. He gave this assurance to Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) General Secretary  Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

Sirsa who met CM Yogi Adityanth today and submitted a written presentation on the issue, disclosed that he apprised the UP Chief Minister about the act passed by the Parliament. He told him that Sikhs in the state facing problems as this act has not been implemented in UP. He also told him that Haryana and Punjab have already implemented it whereas Delhi is very close to complete the process of implementation.

Urging  the Chief Minister to implement the act in the state,  Sirsa also told him that  sikh population in the state wants to get their marriages registered under the act but in the absence of its implementation they were forced to get registrations done under the old provisions.  He said that its early implementation will facilitate the sikh couples to get their marriages registered as per the sikh rehat maryada  (sikh code of conduct).

After listening to the problem raised by the Mr. Sirsa, the Chief Minister assured him that he will implement the act as soon as possible and get the process completed for it.

Sirsa thanked Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his  noble gesture. He also told him that he was on a task to get it implemented throughout the country and had already met Assam Chief Minister in this regard.
